ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a hands-on Solutions / Test Architect QA Playwright to lead and scale automation strategy using Playwright as the core framework.
The ideal candidate will be a strong automation expert who has architected robust Playwright frameworks from scratch and can drive modern, scalable, maintainable and CI/CD-integrated testing across complex applications.
This role will act as a technical authority for automation architecture, governance, engineering standards and best practices, while providing technical leadership across automation initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architect and implement end-to-end automation using Playwright across UI, API and integrated systems.
- Design and scale reusable Playwright automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM), fixtures, custom utilities and modular architecture.
- Establish automation standards including folder structures, naming conventions, coding standards and governance.
- Integrate Playwright automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions and GitLab.
- Implement cross-browser, parallel and headless test execution strategies.
- Establish effective reporting, logging, debugging and observability mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Development, DevOps and Product teams to drive shift-left quality engineering practices.
- Provide technical mentorship, conduct framework reviews and perform code reviews.
- Evaluate and recommend complementary tools for API automation, mocking, test data management and other QA needs.
- Drive automation strategy and continuous improvement across projects.
- Explore and implement AI-assisted testing capabilities such as intelligent test generation, self-healing locators and flaky test detection.
- Manage technical escalations and effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.

MANDATORY SKILLS
- 8+ years of experience in QA / Test Automation Engineering.
- 10–15 years overall experience preferred for this role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
- JavaScript / TypeScript mandatory.
- Strong Selenium Testing experience.
- Proven experience designing and scaling Playwright frameworks from scratch.
- Solid knowledge of Playwright fixtures and custom setup.
- Experience with Page Object Model (POM), reusable utilities and modular framework architecture.
- Strong experience with parallel execution and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of cross-browser testing strategies.
- API automation using Playwright and/or REST libraries.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions and/or GitLab.
- Strong Git and branching workflow knowledge.
Ability to manage escalations and client expectations.
- Hands-on architect mindset – not limited to review or governance activities.
