Position: Site Engineer – Electrical

Location: Mundra Site (Gujarat)

Department: Project – Electrical & Instrumentation

Reporting To: Project Manager / Construction Manager

1. Role Overview

The Site Engineer (Electrical) will be responsible for execution, supervision, and coordination of all electrical works at site, ensuring timely completion as per project schedule, quality standards, and safety requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Site Execution & Supervision

- Supervise installation of electrical systems including:
- Cable laying (HT/LT)
- Cable tray and conduit installation
- Panel erection (MCC, PCC, VFD panels)
- Lighting and earthing systems

- Ensure work is executed as per drawings, BOQ, and specifications

B. Planning & Coordination

- Prepare daily and weekly work plans and schedules
- Coordinate with:
- Civil team (for trenches, foundations)
- Mechanical team (for equipment readiness)
- Instrumentation team (for integrated works)

- Ensure availability of materials, tools, and manpower

C. Quality Control

- Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications
- Conduct inspections and ensure proper installation practices
- Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and approvals

D. Testing & Commissioning Support

- Assist in:
- Cable testing (IR, continuity, HV tests)
- Panel testing and energization




- Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities

- Ensure readiness of systems for commissioning

E. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain daily progress reports
- Track material consumption and work progress
- Prepare measurement sheets and support billing

F. Safety Compliance

- Ensure all works are carried out as per safety norms
- Follow permit-to-work system
- Coordinate with Safety Engineer for safe execution

3. Required Skills

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems in EPC projects
- HT/LT cable laying and termination
- Switchgear, MCC, PCC, VFD panels
- Earthing and lighting systems

- Ability to read and interpret:

- Electrical drawings
- SLDs (Single Line Diagrams)
- Layouts and schematics

Execution & Project Skills

- Hands-on experience in site execution and supervision
- Ability to manage contractors and manpower
- Understanding of project scheduling and progress tracking

Testing & Commissioning

- Knowledge of:
- Electrical testing procedures
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities

- Familiarity with testing instruments

Software Skills

- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and reporting tools
- Familiarity with AutoCAD drawings (reading level)

Coordination & Communication

- Positive coordination with multiple disciplines
- Effective communication with site team and vendors

Behavioral Skills

4. Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4–6 years experience in EPC / industrial projects
- Experience in power plant / refinery / large industrial projects preferred
