Trusted by organizations such as Pw C, Zendesk, and Gorgias, Inbox Kit focuses on giving customers everything they need to land in the primary inbox.
What You'll Do
- Customize and maintain our Shopify theme using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and Java Script — sections, blocks,
snippets, and JSON templates
Convert Figma/design files into pixel-accurate, mobile-responsive storefront pages Install, configure, and troubleshoot Shopify apps (reviews, subscriptions, loyalty, upsells, Whats App commerce, Klaviyo, etc.)
- Fix storefront bugs, cart/checkout issues, and app conflicts quickly — downtime on a live D2 C store is lost revenue
Keep the site fast: image optimization, script/app audits, Core Web Vitals basics Set up and QA tracking (GA4, Meta Pixel) so data stays clean Support high-traffic sale days with pre-launch QA and load readiness Maintain a clean Git workflow for all theme changes What We're Looking For
Must-have
- Strong hands-on command of Liquid — not just theme-editor tinkering, actual section/snippet-level development
Solid HTML5, CSS/SCSS,
and Java Script (ES6+) fundamentals Understanding of Shopify Online Store 2.0 architecture — sections, blocks, schema, JSON templates, metafields
Comfortable installing, configuring, and debugging third-party Shopify apps Basic familiarity with the Shopify Admin/Storefront API (REST or Graph QL) — enough to read docs and wire up simple integrations A live portfolio: personal projects, freelance stores, or theme customizations you can walk us through Comfortable in a Git-based workflow Can debug independently — reads error logs, checks browser console, isolates the actual problem before asking for help
Good to have (not required at this level)
Exposure to Shopify Plus features (Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, Flow) Any Graph QL Admin API experience Understanding of D2 C mechanics — bundles, subscriptions, COD, upsells/cross-sells Past internship, freelance, or agency work on a live Shopify store What This Role Is Not
This isn't a Shopify Plus / headless engineering role — no Hydrogen, no Remix, no custom app architecture from scratch. If that's your specialization, this JD (and this budget) isn't the right fit. We're hiring someone sharp who's genuinely positive at theme-level Shopify development and wants to grow into the bigger stuff as the store scales.
Why Join us.
Direct ownership of a live storefront — your fixes and builds go live the same day Small team, fast decisions, you'll work directly with the CTO, not a middle layer Real exposure to how a D2 C brand actually runs: launches, sales, growth experiments How to Apply
Send your resume and portfolio (links to live Shopify stores or theme work you've built) to [email] with the subject line "Shopify Developer — [Your Name]." Bonus points if you point out one thing you'd fix on our current site
