Job Summary

IMP Engineering & Power Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Shift In-Charge to supervise the day-to-day operation of a Captive Power Plant. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation during the assigned shift, coordinating operating teams, monitoring equipment performance, and achieving operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise complete shift operations of the power plant, including Boiler, Turbine, CHP, and associated auxiliaries.
- Monitor operating parameters through DCS/control room and field operations and take appropriate corrective action.
- Coordinate with Boiler, Turbine, Electrical, CHP, WTP, and Maintenance teams for smooth plant operation.
- Ensure safe start-up, shutdown, load changes, and emergency handling as per established operating procedures.
- Monitor boiler and turbine performance and maintain stable plant load and operating conditions.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment abnormalities, breakdowns, and planned maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper coal/fuel handling and availability of required utilities during the shift.
- Maintain shift logs, operational records, generation reports, and equipment performance data.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures,



statutory requirements, and company operating standards.
- Supervise operators and technicians and ensure proper manpower deployment during the shift.
- Identify operational problems and coordinate troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate critical plant conditions and pending activities to the incoming shift team.

Required Skills & Experience
- 4-5 years minimum of relevant experience in Thermal Power Plant / Captive Power Plant / Co-Generation Plant operations.
- Strong practical knowledge of Boiler and Turbine operations.
- Experience in DCS-based plant operation will be preferred.
- Good understanding of plant auxiliaries, CHP, electrical systems, and utility systems.
- Ability to lead and coordinate shift manpower effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and operational procedures.

Qualification B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline. Candidates with relevant experience in captive, co-generation, sugar, distillery, or process-industry power plants will be considered.
