Role Description The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building engineering systems during assigned shifts. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring and maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other critical infrastructure; performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance; and responding promptly to equipment faults and facility incidents.

The role involves coordinating with vendors and internal teams, maintaining accurate logs and maintenance records, and ensuring compliance with safety, statutory, and company standards.

The Shift





Engineer is also expected to support energy efficiency initiatives, suggest improvements to building performance, and provide clear technical updates to supervisors and facility stakeholders. This is a full time, on-site role based in Thane.

Qualifications

- Strong technical knowledge of building services, including HVAC, electrical power distribution, plumbing, fire and safety systems, and BMS operations.
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for engineering systems.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices, relevant regulations, and compliance requirements for facilities and engineering operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation, and to maintain accurate shift reports and records.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with facility teams, vendors, and customers, including clear escalation of issues when required.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage time across shifts, and remain calm and solution-focused in urgent or emergency situations.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering (or a related field), with prior experience in facility or building operations preferred.
- Willingness to work in a shift-based, on-site environment in Thane and to adopt OCS values and procedures in daily operations.
