ServiceNow Developer Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of handson experience as a ServiceNow Developer
- Strong experience developing on the ServiceNow platform, delivering scalable and supportable solutions across global organizations

- Proven proficiency with
- Flow Designer (complex flows, subflows, integrations, error handling)
- Serverside and clientside scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies)
- Experience designing and developing global solutions that support:
- Multiple regions, time zones, and user populations
- Reusable frameworks and standardized patterns
- Longterm platform scalability and maintainability
- Robust understanding of the ServiceNow data model, ACLs, roles, and security best practices
- Ability to evaluate requirements, prioritize outofthebox (OOB) capabilities, and implement custom development only when necessary
- Strong documentation skills, including:

- Technical design documents

- Flow and integration documentation
- Clear knowledge transfer and support documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, architects, and business stakeholders

ServiceNow Certifications (Required)

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Required




- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) – Required

Preferred Experience & Skills

- Experience designing and developing solutions in the following ServiceNow modules:

- IT Service Management (ITSM)
- Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD)
- IT Operations Management (ITOM), including Discovery
- Experience designing and implementing API-based integrations, including:
- Designing and implementing APIbased integrations, including:
- REST and/or SOAP web services
- ServiceNow IntegrationHub and MID Server
- Handson experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems such as:

- Workday
- CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics)
- ERP, HR, or financial systems

- Familiarity with
- Update Sets and application repository
- Instance upgrades and release management
- Agile or DevOpsaligned delivery models

Key Expectations

- Build scalable, reusable, and globally aligned ServiceNow solutions
- Leverage Flow Designer over legacy workflows where appropriate
- Write clean, efficient, and welldocumented code
- Follow ServiceNow development standards and platform best practices
- Balance rapid delivery with enterprisegrade stability and longterm platform health
- Actively contribute to design reviews and technical decisionmaking
