Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced EDA Infrastructure Support Engineer to provide first-line and advanced triaging support for semiconductor design environments. The role involves diagnosing and resolving issues related to compute grids, EDA tool licenses, CI/CD pipelines, job scheduling systems, and engineering productivity infrastructure. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, CAD, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure uninterrupted operation of EDA environments.
Key Responsibilities
EDA Infrastructure Support & Triaging
Act as the first point of contact for EDA infrastructure issues reported by design and verification teams.
Analyze, triage, and drive resolution of compute grid, batch job, and scheduler-related issues.
Investigate job failures, performance bottlenecks, and resource allocation problems.
Support engineering users across ASIC, FPGA, Verification, and Physical Design environments.
Compute Grid Administration
Troubleshoot issues related to LSF, SGE, Slurm, PBS, or equivalent workload schedulers.
Monitor cluster utilization, queue health, node availability, and job execution status.
Identify and escalate hardware, storage, or network-related infrastructure issues.
EDA License Management
Diagnose EDA tool licensing issues involving FlexLM/FlexNet and vendor-specific license servers.
Resolve license checkout failures, feature shortages, and license server connectivity issues.
Coordinate with EDA vendors and CAD teams to address recurring licensing problems.
CI/CD and Automation Support
Investigate build failures and CI pipeline issues.
Troubleshoot Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar automation platforms.
Analyze regression failures and determine whether issues are infrastructure, tool, or design related.
Support automation scripts used in engineering workflows.
Monitoring & Incident Management
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.
Maintain incident records and knowledge base documentation.
Generate reports on infrastructure health, utilization, and recurring problem trends.
Participate in on-call support rotation as required.
Skill Requirements
Technical Skills
Robust Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
Experience supporting semiconductor EDA environments.
Knowledge of compute grid technologies such as:
IBM LSF
Slurm
SGE
PBS/Torque
Experience with FlexLM/FlexNet license management.
Good understanding of CI/CD platforms:
Jenkins
GitLab CI
GitHub Actions
Scripting skills:
Python
Shell/Bash
Perl (preferred)
Infrastructure Knowledge
Linux server environments
NFS, NAS, distributed storage
Networking fundamentals (DNS, SSH, NFS, TCP/IP)
Monitoring and logging tools
Troubleshooting Skills
Log analysis
