Job Summary

Risk Specialist

Support the Chief Risk Officer& Risk Manager in development, implementing, implementing, embedding and continuous improvement of our Risk events and enterprise risk management.

To support the development and delivery of the HCLIBS annual risk Assurance plan.

Key Responsibilities

- Take ownership of the day-to-day management and operation of the Breaches and Incident Management Framework.

- Conduct daily reviews of the Breaches and Incident mailbox to ensure all reported breaches and incidents are assessed, actioned promptly, and outstanding items are appropriately followed up.

- Regularly review breach and incident registers/trackers prior to monthly MI reporting to ensure accurate categorisation, error identification, trend analysis, and data quality.

- Contribute to the preparation of monthly management information (MI) reports for internal stakeholders and HCL-IBS clients, including trend analysis, root cause analysis, and key risk insights.

- Provide guidance, support, and training to operational teams on breach and incident reporting requirements, policies, and best practices.

- Assess risk events against HCL and client standards, evaluating the effectiveness of first-line controls to ensure appropriate customer outcomes and regulatory compliance.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory, client, and industry requirements impacting risk, conduct, and incident management.

- Support the annual review and update of the Breaches Management Framework documentation and Conduct Risk learning materials.

- Assist in the implementation and continuous embedding of the Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty frameworks across the business.

- Support the development, maintenance,



and enhancement of risk and control documentation, including policies, procedures, and governance records.

- Support the Risk Manager in identifying, assessing, and monitoring emerging external threats and associated business risks.

- Develop, maintain, and enhance management dashboards, scorecards, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support effective risk oversight and decision-making.

Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as required to support business objectives and operational needs

Skill Requirements

Essential Education/Qualifications/

Bachelor/ Postgraduate

Desirable Education

- Educated to degree standard

- Relevant Industry Professional Qualifications (such as CII or IRM).

- Be able to influence decisions at all levels.

- Team Player but must also be fully capable of working alone

- Good presentation and communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to summarise / articulate issues clearly and effectively for senior management consumption.

Desirable Skills

- Positive working knowledge of UK Financial Services regulatory rulebooks

- Awareness of risk management and audit controls

- General awareness of industry best practice in compliance such as industry initiatives

Other Requirements

Experience

- 5 years of experience in risk management framework development, implementation, and governance.
