Job Overview

CGI is looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
- Develop and integrate scalable and secure RESTful APIs based on business requirements.
- Design and implement microservices-based solutions using Spring Boot.
- Ensure APIs and backend services meet standards for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot applications running on Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.




- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Contribute to application performance optimization and continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs, application components, and deployment processes.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
- Hands-on experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Good understanding of Microservices architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or other automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with Git and source-control practices.
- Knowledge of application monitoring, logging,



and observability tools.
