Senior Software Developer The Senior Software Developer is responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, and enhancing software components used across ECS products, including SCADA, Historian, Optimization, and Quality Management solutions.

The role requires strong experience in C#, .NET, SQL Server, and desktop application development. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality software delivery, support product modernization efforts, and use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while maintaining engineering best practices.

This role can be based in several of our locations - Brno (Czech Republic), Copenhagen (Denmark), Chennai (India) or Allentown (USA).

Responsibilities

- Software development: Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and platform components using C# and .NET technologies.
- Software development: Develop reusable and maintainable code aligned with established architecture and coding standards.
- Software development: Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
- Software development: Support modernization and enhancement of existing applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.

- Application Database Development: Develop and maintain desktop applications using WPF.
- Application Database Development: Develop service-based solutions using WCF and gRPC.
- Application Database Development: Design and optimize SQL Server databases, queries, and stored procedures.
- Application Database Development: Support applications handling operational and historical process data.

- Software Quality Security:



Follow software engineering best practices, coding standards, and Secure SDLC processes.
- Software Quality Security: Address issues identified through code reviews, quality analysis, and security scanning tools.
- Software Quality Security: Contribute to testing activities, including unit testing and defect resolution.
- Software Quality Security: Ensure delivered software meets quality, reliability, and maintainability expectations.

- DevOps Engineering Practices: Use Azure DevOps/TFS for source control, work item management, and release activities.

- AI-Assisted Development: Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar solutions to improve productivity.

- AI-Assisted Development: Review and validate AI-generated outputs before adoption.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in: C#, .NET Framework, .NET, SQL Server, WPF
- Experience with one or more communication technologies such as WCF, gRPC, REST APIs, or similar.
- Experience using Azure DevOps, TFS, Git, or equivalent development tools.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within an Agile software development environment.

- Preferred: Experience with SCADA, Historian, Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or OT software systems.
- Preferred: Experience working with distributed or service-oriented applications.
- Preferred: Exposure to modernization of legacy .NET applications.
- Preferred: Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Preferred: Familiarity with secure coding practices and industrial cybersecurity concepts.
