ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to manage and supervise civil construction activities for a premium high-rise residential development comprising 7 towers and 196 large 4 and 5 bedroom apartments in Ahmedabad.

The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day execution, quality, progress, contractor coordination and technical supervision of assigned towers/areas from structural works through finishing and handover.

This is a site-based role requiring strong practical construction knowledge and the ability to independently identify and resolve execution issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Civil & Structural Execution

- Supervise RCC works including foundations, columns, shear walls, beams, slabs, staircases and other structural elements.
- Verify reinforcement, shuttering/formwork, levels, dimensions, line and alignment before concreting.
- Coordinate concrete pours and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Monitor masonry, plastering, waterproofing, screeding and other civil works.
- Ensure construction is carried out strictly as per approved structural and architectural drawings.

1. Finishing Works

Supervise and control finishing activities including:
- Flooring and stone works
- Internal and external plaster
- Waterproofing
- False ceiling coordination
- Doors and windows
- Painting
- Bathrooms and wet areas
- Balconies and terraces
- Faade-related civil interfaces
- Common areas, lobbies and staircases

Maintain high finishing standards appropriate for a premium residential project.
1. Site & Contractor Management

- Manage and coordinate civil contractors, subcontractors and site supervisors.
- Allocate work fronts and ensure adequate manpower, machinery and materials are available.
- Monitor contractor productivity and identify delays or underperformance.
- Conduct daily site inspections and progress reviews.
- Ensure contractors rectify defective or incomplete work promptly.
- Verify contractor measurements and quantities before certification.

1. Drawing & Technical Coordination

- Review architectural, structural and relevant MEP drawings before execution.
- Identify drawing discrepancies and constructability issues before work begins.




- Raise RFIs and coordinate resolutions with architects, structural consultants and other consultants.
- Ensure only the latest approved drawings are being used at site.
- Coordinate civil openings, shafts, sleeves, embeds and other MEP requirements before concreting or finishing.

1. Quality Control

- Ensure all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, IS codes and project quality standards.
- Carry out pre-pour inspections and construction checklists.
- Monitor concrete quality, cube testing and other required material tests.
- Inspect reinforcement, shuttering, waterproofing, masonry and finishing works.
- Maintain inspection and quality records.
- Identify defective workmanship and ensure corrective action before subsequent work proceeds.
- Minimise rework through proper supervision and planning.

1. Planning & Progress Monitoring

- Work with the Project Manager and planning team to achieve project milestones.
- Prepare short-term execution plans and weekly work targets.
- Monitor actual progress against planned progress.
- Identify potential delays in advance and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate upcoming material, manpower, drawing and equipment requirements.
- Maintain daily and weekly progress records.

1. Material Management

- Estimate short-term material requirements based on planned activities.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure uninterrupted availability.
- Check incoming materials against approved specifications.
- Monitor consumption and minimise material wastage.
- Report abnormal consumption, shortages or misuse.

1. MEP & INTERDISCIPLINARY COORDINATION

Coordinate closely with electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, HVAC, lift and other specialist teams to ensure:
- Required openings and sleeves are provided correctly.
- Civil and MEP activities are properly sequenced.
- Services do not conflict with structural or architectural elements.
- Finished civil work is not unnecessarily damaged for subsequent MEP installation.

1. Safety & Site Discipline

- Ensure contractors follow project safety requirements.
- Coordinate with the safety team before high-risk activities.




- Maintain proper housekeeping and safe access throughout assigned areas.
- Stop or escalate unsafe construction practices when required.

1. SNAGGING & HANDOVER

- Conduct internal inspections before consultant/client inspections.
- Prepare and close snag lists.
- Ensure apartments and common areas meet required finishing standards before handover.
- Coordinate rectification of defects.
- Assist with as-built documentation and final handover.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- 812+ years of civil construction experience, preferably with significant experience in high-rise residential projects.
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience in RCC structure and residential finishing works.
- Experience independently handling at least one high-rise tower or substantial project zone is strongly preferred.
- Valuable understanding of construction drawings, specifications and IS codes.
- Experience coordinating architects, structural consultants, MEP teams and contractors.
- Ability to check quantities and contractor measurements.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site logistics.

REPORTING STRUCTURE Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Manager / Project Head

Coordinates With: Architects, Structural Consultants, MEP Consultants, Planning Team, QA/QC, Safety Team, Procurement, Stores, Quantity Surveyors and Contractors.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone who is site-oriented rather than purely office-oriented.

The ideal candidate should be capable of walking onto a tower, understanding the current construction status, identifying technical or quality issues, coordinating the required teams and driving the work to completion without requiring constant supervision.

Previous experience delivering premium or luxury high-rise residential projects from RCC through finishing and handover will be given preference.
