Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced GM – Procurement (Mechanical) to lead the overall mechanical procurement and supply chain function. The candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, timely procurement, and leading the procurement team across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement procurement strategies for mechanical projects.
- Lead procurement of HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, Mechanical Equipment, Piping, and related materials.
- Manage high-value negotiations with OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and procurement efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and OEMs.
- Identify alternate and back-to-back vendors for critical and long-lead materials.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of project-critical materials and equipment.
- Review BOQs, technical specifications, quotations, technical-commercial comparisons, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Estimation, Planning, Finance, Contracts, and Stores teams.
- Establish procurement policies, SOPs, vendor evaluation systems, and procurement dashboards.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality, delivery schedules, commercial compliance, and after-sales support.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.

Technical Expertise The candidate should have strong procurement and technical knowledge of:
- HVAC: Chillers, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV,



ventilation and exhaust systems.
- Ducting: GI ducting, pre-insulated ducts, insulation, diffusers, grilles, louvers, dampers, fire dampers, and smoke dampers.
- Mechanical Equipment: Pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, expansion tanks, etc.
- Piping: MS, GI, HDPE, CPVC, UPVC, PPR, copper and SS piping, fittings, valves, supports, and insulation.
- Fire Fighting: Fire pumps, sprinklers, hydrants, valves, pipes, fittings, hose reels, and fire protection equipment.
- Plumbing: Water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater, sanitary systems, pumps, pipes, valves, fixtures, and accessories.
- Instrumentation & Controls: Flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, pressure switches, control valves, actuators, VFDs, and HVAC controls.

Required Skills
- Strong strategic procurement and commercial negotiation skills.
- Excellent understanding of MEP systems and mechanical equipment.
- Strong vendor and OEM network.
- Experience handling high-value procurement packages.
- Knowledge of project procurement planning and long-lead item management.
- Robust leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and procurement teams.
- Strong cost-control and vendor-management capabilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain.
- Experience in Mechanical Contracting, MEP, EPC, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction industries.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, high-value procurement, vendor negotiations, cost optimization, and team leadership.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and MEP materials and equipment.
