Role & responsibilities

1.Terminal Operation

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the bulk cargo terminal.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise coal and iron ore handling operations.
- Ensure achievement of cargo handling, productivity, quality, and turnaround-time targets.
- Plan and execute vessel handling operations, including loading, unloading, discharge, and vessel turnaround.
- Monitor cargo movement from vessel to stockyard and from stockyard to dispatch points.
- Ensure optimum utilization of terminal infrastructure and material-handling equipment.

1. Vessel & Cargo Handling

- Coordinate vessel arrival, berthing, cargo operations, and sailing schedules.
- Monitor vessel productivity and minimize vessel turnaround time.
- Coordinate with Port, Shipping Agents, Customs, Surveyors, Stevedores, and other relevant agencies.
- Ensure proper documentation and operational coordination for import and export cargo.
- Monitor cargo quantity, quality, losses, damages, and operational discrepancies.

C. Manpower & Resource Management

- Ensure effective deployment of cranes, conveyors, loaders, trucks, excavators, and other equipment.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure equipment availability and minimize breakdown-related delays.

D. Client & Stakeholder Coordination





- Maintain regular coordination with clients, principals, shipping lines/agents, vendors, transporters, and government authorities.
- Address operational issues and customer requirements promptly.
- Coordinate with internal departments including Maintenance, Logistics, Commercial, Safety.
- Provide regular operational updates and performance reports to senior management.

E. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict compliance with terminal HSE and safety procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture among all employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable port, environmental, statutory, and operational requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions for identified risks.
- Ensure safe handling and movement of coal and other bulk cargo.
