- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain complex COBOL applications using Micro Focus COBOL 6.4.
- Analyze existing COBOL programs to identify opportunities for optimization, modernization, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and other development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and effective software solutions.
- Participate in the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Perform unit testing and integration testing to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
and resolve issues identified during testing.
- Troubleshoot and debug application issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Maintain technical documentation related to application development, enhancements, and support activities.
Required Skills
- 7–12 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development.
- Strong experience with Micro Focus COBOL 6.4.
- Strong understanding of COBOL programming, debugging, and application maintenance.
- Experience in SDLC processes, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving skills.
