Purpose of the Role

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance and supplier quality development for Powertrain commodities including Engine, Transmission, Driveline, Axles, Castings, Forgings, Machined Parts, and Engine/Transmission Assemblies.

The role will drive supplier capability enhancement, new product development quality planning, supplier audits, problem-solving initiatives, and continuous improvement activities to achieve world-class quality performance aligned with Tata Motors quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Assurance

- Manage the quality performance of suppliers supplying powertrain components.
- Lead supplier quality assurance activities for Engine, Transmission, Gearbox, Axle, Machined Components, Forgings, Castings, and proprietary parts.
- Monitor supplier quality KPIs such as PPM, Rejections, Warranty, Cost of Poor Quality, and Delivery Compliance.
- Ensure supplier compliance to Tata Motors quality requirements and customer-specific requirements.

Supplier Development

- Identify supplier capability gaps and drive improvement projects.
- Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve process capability.
- Support supplier localization and new supplier development programs.
- Establish robust process controls at supplier locations using quality core tools.

APQP & Current Product Development

- Drive APQP activities for current product development programs.
- Process Flow Diagrams
- PFMEA

- PPAP Documentation
- Participate in supplier feasibility reviews and manufacturing readiness assessments.
- Ensure flawless launch of new powertrain components.

- Ensure closure of audit non-conformities within defined timelines.
