Manager / Senior Manager Outbound Logistics Operations

Role Purpose

Responsible for managing end-to-end outbound logistics operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective and compliant movement of finished goods from plant/warehouse to customers and project sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end dispatch, transportation and delivery operations across locations.
- Plan and optimize vehicle placement, route planning, load utilization and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with Sales, Planning, Warehouse, Production, Finance and customers to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Manage logistics partners, transporters and 3PLs; monitor performance, service levels and commercial terms.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delivery delays, damages, shortages and transit issues.
- Drive logistics cost optimization through freight negotiation, route optimization, vehicle utilization and process improvements.
- Ensure proper documentation, invoicing, e-way bills, PODs and statutory compliance.




- Establish and monitor KPIs such as OTIF, freight cost, vehicle turnaround time, transit time, damage/shortage and POD closure.
- Develop dashboards and MIS for visibility of dispatch and delivery performance.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Desired Profile
- Graduate with 8–12 years of experience in outbound logistics / transportation / distribution operations, preferably in manufacturing, solar, EPC or heavy engineering.
- Robust experience in managing large-scale dispatches, transporter networks and multi-location operations.
- Good understanding of logistics costing, contracts, compliance and ERP/SAP processes.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel across plants, warehouses and customer/project locations.
