Job Profile: Java Engineer

Location: Remote

We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer to develop and maintain online and multi-channel transactional applications using Java 11 and cloud-based technologies . The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, RESTful APIs, cloud technologies, relational databases, Elasticsearch, Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins , along with experience working in Agile development environments.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain online and multi-channel transactional applications using Java 11 and cloud-based technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand, interpret, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs for enterprise applications and integrations.
- Integrate applications with cloud-based relational databases and Elasticsearch.
- Develop scalable and reliable application components following software engineering best practices.
- Implement application security measures and support security-related development activities.




- Perform and support performance testing and optimization to ensure application reliability and scalability.
- Manage source code and version control using Git and Bitbucket.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and automation using Jenkins.
- Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.
- Work within a hybrid Scrum and Kanban methodology to support continuous and iterative delivery.
- Utilize web and digital technologies to enhance application capabilities and business solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to effective and scalable solutions.
- Explore new technologies and ideas to improve existing applications, processes, and engineering practices.

Must Have skills

- 4+ years of experience in Java/software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 11.
- Strong experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with cloud-based technologies.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Git and Bitbucket for version control and source-code management.
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of software development, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban development environments.

Preferred Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications.
- Experience with application security and secure development practices.
- Experience with performance testing and application optimization.
- Experience working with automated deployment and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and distributed teams.
