BMS Hardware Design & Development
- Develop and review BMS and automotive ECU schematics; select components and design power, sensing, signal-conditioning and communication circuits.
- Design/review cell-voltage, current and temperature sensing, protection, contactor/control and BMS I/O circuits.
- Perform design calculations, component derating and hardware design reviews; review PCB layout for signal integrity, grounding, power distribution and EMC.
Automotive ECU Hardware
- Design and debug automotive-grade ECU hardware considering automotive electrical and environmental requirements.
- Support ECU architecture/interfaces, prototype bring-up, engineering changes and productionization.
BMS Development
- Develop and troubleshoot voltage, current and temperature measurement, battery protection, power management and contactor-control hardware.
- Support fault detection, protection, monitoring and BMS-to-vehicle ECU integration.
CAN Communication
- Hands-on knowledge of CAN physical layer and transceivers; troubleshoot CAN hardware and communication issues using appropriate analysis/debugging tools.
EMI / EMC
- Apply EMI/EMC principles in schematic and PCB design; support filtering, shielding, grounding, routing, EMC testing, debugging and corrective actions.
Functional Safety
- Support hardware safety requirements, FMEA/FMEDA activities, diagnostic coverage, safety mechanisms, monitoring and secure-state concepts. ISO 26262 knowledge preferred.
Hardware Bring-Up & Troubleshooting
- Perform prototype PCB/ECU bring-up and circuit-level debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, power supplies, logic analyzers, function generators and CAN analyzers.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and validate corrective actions.
Validation & Testing
- Prepare hardware validation plans, test cases and reports; execute functional, electrical, environmental, abnormal-condition and EMI/EMC validation.
Documentation & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Maintain architecture, schematics, BOMs, specifications, design calculations, requirements, reviews, test reports and engineering changes.
- Collaborate with firmware, systems, battery-pack, electrical, validation, functional-safety, mechanical, vehicle-integration, manufacturing, quality and suppliers.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant automotive electronics / ECU hardware experience.
- Hands-on automotive ECU hardware design and development.
- Hands-on BMS hardware development experience.
- Strong circuit design, debugging and prototype bring-up skills.
- Practical EMI/EMC knowledge.
- Working knowledge of Functional Safety.
- Hands-on CAN knowledge and troubleshooting.
- Automotive electronics validation experience
Preferred candidate profile
- EV, battery pack or BMS product development experience.
- ISO 26262 knowledge; CAN tools and vehicle/ECU integration experience.
- CAN FD, LIN or automotive Ethernet exposure.
- PCB design/review, hardware validation, automotive power electronics and ECU productionization.
