Senior Data Scientist - Predictive & Optimization Systems

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to build out predictive, forecasting, and recommendation systems that shape decision-making across our hiring products. You will solve complex, real-world problems involving forecasting, optimization, funnel analytics, and data-driven insights at scale.

This role offers substantial ownership, direct impact on product and end user experience, deep cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to influence core capabilities across the platform.

What You’ll Do

Modeling & Forecasting

- Build models that predict applicant volume, funnel conversions, time-to-fill, and cost metrics.
- Develop robust forecasting pipelines using historical, real-time, and contextual data.
- Produce calibrated predictions that remain reliable in agile environments.
- Design and implement matching systems using modern techniques including vector embeddings, traditional ML, and LLM-based approaches.

Recommendations & Optimization

- Build recommendation systems to guide spend decisions, pacing, prioritization, and channel mix.
- Build the foundation for matching algorithms for matching applicants with jobs
- Combine ML predictions with rules and constraints to create actionable, practical systems
- Evaluate trade-offs across cost, quality, and speed in multi-objective settings.

Analytics & Product Insight

- Partner with Product and Engineering to define metrics, data inputs, and model interfaces.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover patterns, bottlenecks, and opportunities.
- Design experiments to validate modeling hypotheses and quantify impact.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

- Work with Analytics and Data Engineering to ensure strong data foundations.
- Translate complex modeling outputs into clear, actionable insights.
- Contribute to modeling standards, documentation, and best practices.

What We’re Looking For





Required

- 5–8+ years of experience in Data Science / Applied ML
- Expertise in forecasting, regression, classification, and probabilistic modeling
- Experience building decision-support or recommendation systems
- Advanced SQL and Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Statsmodels, etc.)
- Ability to evaluate models for accuracy, calibration, and business relevance
- Comfort working with noisy, real-world operational data
- Strong communication skills, with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Experience collaborating in fast-moving, cross-functional environments

Nice to Have

- Experience with marketplace, ads, optimization, recommendation, or resource allocation systems.
- Familiarity with causal inference or uplift modeling.
- Exposure to MLOps tools, model monitoring, and model lifecycle management.
- Experience in HR tech, workforce, or other high-volume operational systems.
- Experience working with LLMs and data-intensive AI applications (retrieval, agents, evaluation, or complex data pipelines).

Location & Time Zone

- Fully remote (India)
- Must be available for partial overlap with US working hours (~4hrs overlap with US Pacific Time)
- Contract length: 12 months, renewable.
