About the Opportunity

HummingBird is hiring a Senior Data Analyst on behalf of our client, a leading IT Services organization based in Hyderabad.

We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst to transform business data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, advanced SQL and Excel capabilities, experience with BI and visualization tools, and the ability to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders.

The role will involve working with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, analyze complex datasets, develop dashboards, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Data Analysis

- Analyze business, operational, financial, customer, project, and performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Gather, validate, clean, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Translate business requirements and questions into analytical solutions.
- Perform exploratory and root-cause analysis to identify business issues and opportunities.
- Identify patterns, anomalies, and trends within complex datasets.
- Develop analytical models and frameworks to support business decisions.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports.
- Develop and monitor KPIs aligned with organizational and business objectives.
- Use BI tools to transform complex datasets into clear and meaningful visualizations.
- Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency.
- Analyze business performance and communicate key insights to leadership.
- Ensure reports and dashboards are accurate, relevant, and delivered within agreed timelines.

Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with business leaders, delivery teams, project managers, finance, sales, operations, HR, and technology teams.




- Gather, document, and prioritize business and reporting requirements.
- Translate business problems into data-driven solutions.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Act as a bridge between business users and technical/data teams.

IT Services Analytics

- Analyze metrics related to IT services delivery, projects, customers, resources, and financial performance.
- Support analysis of utilization, productivity, project profitability, resource allocation, and delivery KPIs.
- Analyze customer and account-level performance data.
- Support workforce and capacity planning through data-driven insights.
- Identify trends related to project performance, SLA adherence, operational efficiency, and service quality.
- Develop dashboards to track delivery and business performance.

Data Quality & Governance

- Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.
- Identify and resolve data-quality issues in collaboration with data owners and technical teams.
- Establish appropriate data-validation and reconciliation processes.
- Maintain documentation for data sources, business rules, KPIs, and analytical methodologies.
- Follow organizational data-governance, security, and privacy standards.

Process Improvement & Automation

- Identify opportunities to automate manual data-analysis and reporting processes.
- Improve analytical workflows and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance data pipelines and reporting solutions.
- Support data-driven digital-transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate new analytics tools and technologies to improve business intelligence capabilities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics , or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related role.
- Strong experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL .
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel , including PivotTables, advanced formulas, Power Query,



and data analysis.
- Strong experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik , or similar BI platforms.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, visualization, and business reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Preferred Technical Skills Experience with several of the following will be an advantage:

- SQL: Complex joins, CTEs, subqueries, window functions, query optimization.
- BI: Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense.
- Programming: Python or R for data analysis and automation.
- Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
- Cloud/Data Platforms: Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks.
- ETL/Data Integration: Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Informatica, or equivalent.
- Experience with data warehouses and dimensional data models.
- Familiarity with APIs and data integration.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and forecasting.
- Experience working with ITSM, ERP, CRM, or enterprise business systems.

Preferred IT Services Experience Experience with analytics in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:
