Key Responsibilities
Quantitative Risk Modelling & FCC Advisory ü Lead delivery of model-focused engagements, including risk model development, validation, and review across AML, transaction monitoring, and risk scoring frameworks ü Design and implement quantitative models aligned with regulatory expectations and best practices ü Oversee model validation activities, including back-testing, performance monitoring, and documentation
Data, Coding & Analytics ü Design and oversee data pipelines and analytical solutions using Python, SAS, scikit-learn, and statsmodels ü Lead analysis of large datasets to support model development, calibration, and optimisation ü Develop and enhance automated reporting, model outputs, and monitoring frameworks
Machine Learning & Modelling ü Apply and guide advanced statistical and machine learning techniques for risk modelling, including classification, clustering, and anomaly detection ü Oversee model development lifecycle from design to validation and implementation ü Ensure models are robust, explainable, and compliant with regulatory requirements
Technology & Innovation ü Drive implementation of model-driven solutions within client systems and FCC frameworks ü Identify opportunities to enhance modelling approaches through automation and advanced analytics
Stakeholder Management ü Manage client relationships and provide clear,
structured insights on model performance and risks ü Translate technical outputs into business recommendations for senior stakeholders ü Guide and review work of junior team members to ensure quality and consistency ü 3 +years of experience within financial institutions, regulatory bodies, or consulting firms, with strong exposure to risk, compliance, and governance frameworks ü Strong experience across GRC, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and non-financial risk, with exposure to consumer protection and internal audit frameworks (Islamic Finance is an advantage)
ü Proven experience working with financial services clients (banks, asset managers, and other regulated institutions)
ü Strong working knowledge of UAE regulatory frameworks (e.g. Central Bank of the UAE, Capital Markets Authority) and international best practices ü Demonstrated ability to lead or manage workstreams across regulatory compliance, governance, and risk initiatives ü Progressing towards or holding a relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICA, CIA, Company Secretary or equivalent)
ü Strong stakeholder management and client engagement skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders ü Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in a practical context ü Solid communication and presentation skills in English; additional languages are an advantage ü Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and managing multiple priorities and deadlines ü Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with exposure to data, analytics, or AI tools considered an advantage
