About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Architect to lead the design and delivery of utility building projects within large-scale infrastructure developments across the Middle East. The role requires a technically strong architect who can independently manage architectural packages from concept through detailed design and IFC stages, while leading and mentoring junior architects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering architectural solutions for a range of utility and ancillary buildings associated with transportation, highways, public realm, and infrastructure projects. The role demands strong design, coordination, technical documentation, and project leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the architectural design and delivery of utility building projects from concept design through detailed design, tender, and IFC stages.
- Manage project packages independently, ensuring delivery within agreed schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Plan and allocate work to junior architects and oversee the production of project deliverables.
- Take ownership of project outputs and ensure compliance with client requirements, project objectives, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary architectural focal point for assigned projects and coordinate with project managers and discipline leads.
- Develop architectural concepts and detailed design solutions for utility and infrastructure-related buildings, including:
- Substations
- Pump stations
- Control buildings
- Operations and maintenance facilities
- Security buildings
- Service buildings
- Utility compounds
- Ancillary infrastructure facilities
- Prepare design reports, presentations, architectural layouts, elevations, sections, and detailed documentation.
- Ensure designs are functional, efficient, sustainable, and aligned with project and client requirements.
Technical Design & Documentation
- Lead the preparation and review of architectural drawing packages and technical documentation.
- Develop building layouts, façade treatments, material specifications, room data sheets, schedules, and technical details.
- Review construction documentation for completeness, accuracy, and coordination.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements.
- Coordinate closely with structural, MEP, civil, landscape, highways, and infrastructure teams.
- Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and coordination meetings.
- Resolve interface issues and ensure architectural integration with wider infrastructure projects.
- Support design risk identification and mitigation throughout project delivery.
- Guide, mentor, and support junior architects and technical staff.
- Conduct technical reviews and quality checks of team deliverables.
- Promote best practices in design, documentation, and project delivery.
- Contribute to capability development and knowledge sharing within the team.
Design Coordination

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in architecture.
- Proven experience leading architectural packages independently.
- Experience delivering infrastructure and utility building projects from concept to detailed design stages.
- Strong technical understanding of building design, construction systems, and architectural detailing.
