We are a reputed real estate development company with multiple ongoing residential and commercial projects. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with strong expertise in collections, project accounting, and statutory compliance within the real estate sector.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Project Management

- Manage end-to-end accounting operations for multiple real estate projects, including tracking construction costs, Work in Progress (WIP), and individual project profitability.
- Oversee bank, vendor, and customer reconciliations alongside Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Finalize books of accounts and prepare comprehensive financial statements and packages for senior management.
- Perform cost allocations, budget-versus-actual variance analysis, and review project draw packages for lenders and investors.

Collections & Receivables (Critical Focus)

- Lead the collections function for customer dues, installments, and outstanding receivables across all projects.
- Follow up with customers, coordinate with the sales team, and ensure timely collection of payments as per agreed schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer receipts, issue receipts, and update the accounting system (Tally/ERP) in real-time.
- Prepare aging reports for receivables and escalate critical overdue accounts to management.

Statutory Compliance & Taxation

- Ensure complete adherence to local tax regulations and statutory filings including GST, TDS, TCS, and Income Tax.




- Maintain compliance with industry-specific regulations like RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) financial reporting.
- Coordinate directly with internal, external, and tax auditors for smooth audit clearances.

Team Coordination & Reporting

- Supervise, mentor, and review work assigned to junior accountants.
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, and CRM departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Support ad hoc projects and financial analysis as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Candidate Requirements

Experience

- 5-8 years of total accounting experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a reputed real estate or construction company as a Collection Accountant or Senior Accountant.
- Proven track record of handling collections and receivables for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in project-based accounting, including tracking construction costs and WIP.

Technical Skills

- Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime/ERP 9 and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros for salary/payroll if needed).
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax portals for e-filing.
- Familiarity with RERA compliance and financial reporting standards for real estate.
