About the Role
Own the end-to-end SAP and enterprise applications landscape for the organization. Drive digital transformation, process standardization, and operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and commercial functions. Identify and implement new technologies to leverage IT for business advantages. Act as the strategic partner to business leaders and the Sr. GM IT / CFO for all SAP-related initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Governance
- Define and execute the SAP roadmap aligned to business strategy, including S/4 HANA evolution, RISE / cloud strategy and integration with non-SAP systems
- Establish governance frameworks for change management, release management, master data, security, and compliance (including DPDP Act and internal controls
- Drive process standardization and best practices across plants and business units, leveraging SAP standard functionality wherever possible
- Delivery & Operations
- Lead end-to-end SAP implementations, upgrades, and migrations (ECC → S/4HANA, Greenfield / Brownfield), ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with quality
- Oversee day-to-day operations of SAP and key business applications (ITIL/SDLC-based), including incident, problem, and change management, and vendor
- Ensure seamless integration between SAP modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, QM, PM, WM/EWM, PS, etc.) and with MES, SCADA, PLM, BI, and other enterprise systems.
- Manufacturing & Domain Leadership
- Partner with COO, Plant Heads, and Supply Chain leaders to align SAP architecture with production planning, capacity planning, shop-floor automation, and MRP processes
- Provide deep expertise in discrete / process manufacturing concepts: BOMs, routing, work centers, production orders, quality inspections, maintenance plans, and cost controlling
- Drive digital manufacturing initiatives (e.g., shop-floor data capture, IoT integration, advanced analytics, AI/ML, RPA) on SAP BTP and allied platforms
- Team & Vendor Management
- Build and lead a high-performing team of functional, technical, and basis consultants, as well as support staff; drive capability building and succession planning
- Manage relationships with system integrators, vendors, and partners, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring value realization
- Risk, Security & Compliance
- Own application security, role design, SoD controls, and data protection in line with corporate policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure audit readiness and support internal/external audits with appropriate documentation and controls
- Reporting and Relationships
- Reports to:
- Sr. GM (IT) / CFO
- Direct reports:
- SAP functional leads, technical leads, support managers, and project managers
- Key stakeholders:
- COO, Plant Heads, CFO, CHRO, Supply Chain Head, Quality Head, and external partners
Qualifications
- Qualifications & Experience
- 15–20 years in SAP and enterprise applications, with at least 2 full-cycle SAP implementations in complex manufacturing setups
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4 HANA (implementation and / or migration) and deep knowledge of core modules: FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, QM, PM; exposure to PS, WM /EWM, and Group Reporting is preferred
- Proven track record managing large teams (10+) and multi-plant, multi-location rollouts
- Education
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering, Finance, Marketing or Material Management

- Technical: SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BTP, integration middleware, basic ABAP understanding, analytics (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, Superset / Grafana)
- Leadership: Strategic thinking, stakeholder management, negotiation, team building, and executive communication
- Transformation: Digital transformation, automation (RPA / AI), cloud strategies (SAP RISE), and continuous improvement mindset
