Role Overview
We are looking for a SAP Integration Suite Support Engineer to join our offshore support team in India. This role focuses on handling integration support tickets for multiple customers using SAP Integration Suite services such as Cloud Integration
(CPI), API Management and Event Mesh.
The engineer will be responsible for analysing integration issues, troubleshooting production problems, implementing bug fixes, and maintaining integration flows across different customer landscapes.
The role requires strong technical expertise in SAP CPI and integration technologies,
combined with the ability to independently investigate issues and provide reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical owner of support tickets related to SAP
Integration Suite services.
- Analyse incidents and service requests raised through ticketing tools such as
Jira.
- Troubleshoot issues in SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) including message failures,
mapping issues, connectivity problems, and adapter errors.
- Monitor and maintain integration scenarios across multiple customer environments.
- Perform bug fixes and minor technical corrections in integration flows.
- Implement approved enhancements or adaptations to existing integration flows after customer approval.
- Investigate and resolve runtime issues, message processing errors, and connectivity problems between SAP and third-party systems.
- Work with API Management and Event Mesh where integrations involve APIs or event-based communication.
- Analyse logs and monitoring tools to identify root causes of integration failures.
- Maintain documentation of solutions, known issues, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with solution architects and development teams for complex issues requiring design changes.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve reliability and stability of integrations.
- Ensure timely resolution of tickets according to agreed SLA targets.
Required Technical Skills
- SAP Integration Technologies
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Cloud Integration (CPI).
- Understanding of integration architecture and patterns.
- Experience with the other SAP Integration Suite services such as API
Management and Event Mesh.
- Integration Development & Troubleshooting
- Experience troubleshooting integration flows, mappings and message processing errors.
- Hands-on experience with Groovy scripting or JavaScript.
- Experience with message mapping techniques (Graphical Mapping, XSLT).
- Understanding of Apache Camel framework used in CPI.
- Integration Protocols & APIs
- Strong knowledge of REST, OData, SOAP web services.
- Experience with IDOC, RFC/BAPI integrations.
- Hands-on experience with adapters such as:
o HTTPS o SOAP o OData o SFTP o IDOC o RFC o JDBC
- Connectivity & Security
- Knowledge of SAP Cloud Connector.
- Experience with security concepts such as:
o SSL certificates o OAuth o SAML
- Experience managing KeyStore and certificates in CPI.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to investigate complex technical issues independently.
- Positive understanding of integration monitoring and operational support.
- Ability to manage multiple support tickets from different customers simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to interact with international teams and customers.
