SAP Basis Consultant – Contract Based

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Consultant with 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, preferably with strong experience in SAP S/4HANA environments.

The consultant will be responsible for SAP system administration, monitoring, performance management, troubleshooting, upgrades, installations, system maintenance, security, and technical support across SAP landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform day-to-day SAP Basis administration and technical support.
- Administer and support SAP S/4HANA systems and related SAP landscapes.
- Perform SAP system installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, and technical maintenance.
- Monitor SAP systems for availability, performance, capacity, and overall system health.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, ABAP dumps, system logs, background jobs, lock entries, update failures, and RFC/connectivity issues.
- Manage SAP transports across development, quality, and production environments.
- Configure and maintain RFC connections, trusted RFCs, and system interfaces.
- Manage background jobs, batch processing, and scheduling.
- Perform SAP client administration, including client creation, configuration, copy, and deletion activities.
- Manage SAP users, roles, and authorizations.
- Support SAP kernel upgrades, Support Package upgrades, and system patching.
- Perform SAP system refreshes and coordinate database-related activities where required.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with SAP functional, development, infrastructure, and database teams.
- Monitor system capacity and coordinate infrastructure requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Participate in production support, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
- Ensure SAP environments follow security, availability, and operational best practices.





Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of hands-on SAP Basis experience.
- Strong experience working with SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Solid knowledge of SAP Basis administration and SAP system architecture.
- Experience with SAP system installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, and maintenance.
- Good knowledge of SAP transport management.
- Experience with RFC configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing background jobs, system logs, dumps, locks, and system monitoring.
- Experience with SAP user and authorization administration.
- Good understanding of SAP kernel, Support Packages, and system upgrades.
- Experience with SAP system refreshes and client administration.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.

Database & Operating System

- Good understanding of SAP HANA database administration from a Basis perspective.
- Experience working with SAP HANA-based S/4HANA systems.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments.
- Understanding of database connectivity and SAP HANA-related troubleshooting.

Security & High Availability

- Knowledge of SAP security concepts, roles, and authorizations.
- Experience supporting system security and technical hardening activities.
- Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and system availability procedures.

Good to Have

- SAP S/4HANA certification.
- SAP HANA certification.
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager / SAP Cloud ALM.
- Experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Gateway from a Basis administration perspective.
- Experience with SAP system migration or upgrade projects.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or SAP cloud environments.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a strong hands-on SAP Basis professional with proven experience managing S/4HANA technical landscapes. The consultant should be comfortable handling day-to-day Basis administration, production support, system upgrades, performance troubleshooting, and technical maintenance.
