Preferred Background: Pharmaceutical / API / Injectable Iron Complex Development

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced R&D; professional with 5–7 years of hands‑on expertise in the development of iron complexes, particularly ferric and ferrous iron‑based products. The role involves process development, optimization, troubleshooting, scale‑up, and technology transfer.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimize ferric and ferrous iron complexes and related iron‑based products.
- Design and execute laboratory and pilot‑scale experiments for new product development.
- Work on reaction chemistry, complex formation, precipitation, oxidation/reduction, and process parameters.
- Develop processes for iron sucrose, iron polymaltose, ferric carboxymaltose, iron isomaltoside, and other iron‑carbohydrate/polymer complexes.
- Optimize critical quality attributes such as molecular weight, particle size, iron content, solubility, stability, and purity.
- Troubleshoot precipitation, aggregation, yield, and batch consistency issues.
- Document process parameters, batch procedures, development reports, and scale‑up protocols.
- Collaborate with Analytical, QC, QA, Production, and Engineering teams.
- Support pilot trials, process scale‑up, technology transfer, and validation batches.
- Evaluate raw materials and interpret analytical results (GPC, particle size, zeta potential, iron assay, elemental analysis).
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, yield enhancement, and cost reduction.

Required Technical Skills





- Strong knowledge of iron chemistry and coordination/complex chemistry.
- Hands‑on experience in ferric/ferrous iron complex development.
- Understanding of oxidation/reduction chemistry and critical process parameters.
- Experience in process optimization and scale‑up from lab to pilot scale.
- Ability to correlate process parameters with product quality and analytical results.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Experience Candidates with direct experience in pharmaceutical/API development of parenteral iron products or injectable iron complexes will be highly preferred. Ideal Candidate A technically solid R&D; professional capable of independently taking an iron‑complex product from lab development → process optimization → pilot trial → scale‑up → technology transfer.
