About the Role

Enorme Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and technically strong R&D; Manager to lead and manage our Research & Development function in the nutraceutical manufacturing industry.

The ideal candidate should have 5–10 years of relevant experience specifically in the nutraceutical industry, with strong knowledge of product development, formulation, raw materials, product optimization, documentation, trials and commercialization.

The candidate will be responsible for leading R&D; activities from concept development and formulation to trials, validation, costing support and successful commercialization while coordinating closely with Production, QA, QC, Procurement, Stores and Business Development teams.

Key Responsibilities1. R&D; and Product Development

- Lead the complete R&D; and product development process for nutraceutical products.
- Develop new formulations based on customer requirements, market trends and product specifications.
- Improve and optimize existing formulations for quality, stability, taste, efficacy and cost.
- Evaluate different dosage forms, ingredients, excipients and functional ingredients.
- Conduct laboratory trials and pilot-scale trials.
- Prepare and maintain formulation records, trial reports and development documents.
- Ensure formulations are technically feasible for commercial manufacturing.

1. Nutraceutical Formulation

- Strong understanding of vitamins, minerals, proteins, amino acids, herbal ingredients, botanical extracts and other nutraceutical ingredients.
- Develop formulations for products such as tablets, capsules, powders, sachets, gummies, liquids and other suitable dosage forms.
- Select appropriate ingredients and determine suitable dosage levels.
- Evaluate compatibility, solubility, stability, taste, texture and processing requirements.
- Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing-related technical issues.

1. Product Trials and Scale-Up

- Plan and execute laboratory, pilot and production trials.
- Coordinate with Production for successful scale-up of developed formulations.
- Monitor trial batches and identify technical issues during manufacturing.
- Provide technical recommendations for process optimization.
- Ensure successful transfer of formulations from R&D; to commercial production.

1. Raw Material Evaluation

- Evaluate new raw materials and ingredients for product development.
- Review technical specifications, COA and relevant documentation.
- Coordinate with Procurement, QA and QC for ingredient approval.




- Support the evaluation of alternative raw materials and suppliers.
- Identify suitable ingredients based on quality, functionality and cost.

1. Documentation and R&D; Records

- Maintain complete and accurate R&D; documentation.
- Prepare formulation sheets, trial records, specifications and product development reports.
- Maintain product development history and revision records.
- Ensure proper documentation of formulation changes and improvements.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for required technical and quality documentation.

1. Costing and Commercial Support

- Support the costing of new product formulations.
- Work with Procurement and Accounts to obtain raw material and packaging costs.
- Optimize formulations while maintaining required product quality and specifications.
- Provide technical inputs for product quotations and customer requirements.
- Support the Business Development team with formulation feasibility and technical information.

1. Customer and Private-Label Product Development

- Understand customer requirements and convert them into technically feasible formulations.
- Coordinate with the Business Development team for customized and private-label product development.
- Review product specifications and suggest suitable formulation approaches.
- Manage formulation modifications based on customer feedback.
- Support product sampling and customer approval processes.

1. Quality and Regulatory Coordination

- Work closely with QA and QC to ensure products meet defined quality specifications.
- Support investigation of formulation, stability or manufacturing-related issues.
- Ensure R&D; activities are aligned with applicable company SOPs and quality requirements.
- Maintain proper technical records required for product development and commercialization.
- Support internal and external audits with relevant R&D; documentation.

1. Stability and Product Optimization

- Support stability studies and monitor product performance.
- Evaluate changes in formulation, packaging and processing conditions.
- Identify opportunities for improving product shelf life, quality and performance.
- Troubleshoot issues related to colour, taste, odour, solubility, flowability, hardness, disintegration and other product characteristics as applicable.

1. Team Management

- Lead and supervise the R&D; team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor completion of R&D; projects.
- Train team members on formulation, documentation, trials and R&D; procedures.
- Review the performance and technical development of R&D; team members.




- Maintain proper coordination and communication within the R&D; department.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination

The R&D; Manager will work closely with:
- Production
- QA
- QC
- Procurement
- Stores
- Business Development
- Accounts/Finance
- Regulatory/Compliance
- Packaging and Dispatch

The role requires strong coordination to ensure smooth movement of products from development → trial → approval → production → commercialization.

Required Qualification

M.Tech in Food Technology – Mandatory

Additional qualifications or certifications related to Food Technology, Nutraceuticals, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Technology or Product Development will be considered an advantage.

Required Experience

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in the Nutraceutical industry – Mandatory.
- Strong hands-on experience in nutraceutical product formulation and development.
- Experience in product trials, scale-up and commercialization.
- Experience in customized/private-label nutraceutical product development preferred.
- Experience in managing and leading an R&D; team.
- Experience working with Production, QA, QC, Procurement and Business Development teams.
