Job SummaryThe Quality Engineer (Civil) is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems at the construction site. This role ensures that all concrete, structural work, finishes, and building materials meet contract specifications, regulatory codes, and industry safety standards while minimizing defects and rework.Core Responsibilities Material Testing &
- Inspection
- Perform site inspections: Conduct daily visual and physical inspections of ongoing civil works (foundations, reinforcement, shuttering, concreting).
- Manage material testing: Coordinate and witness mandatory laboratory tests on materials like cement, steel, sand, aggregate, and concrete cubes.
- Review vendor certifications: Verify Mill Test Certificates (MTC) and third-party laboratory reports for all incoming construction materials Documentation &
- Quality Records
- Implement QA/QC plans: Execute the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) for each construction phase.
- Maintain quality logs: Prepare and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective Actions, and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
- Compile final handovers: Organize all quality clearance certificates, pour cards, and test reports into final documentation packages for client handover.
Auditing &
- Compliance
- Issue NCRs: Identify construction defects or deviations from drawings, issue Non-Conformance Reports, and monitor the corrective rework.
- Audit concrete batching: Periodically audit concrete batching plants and mix designs to ensure strict compliance with strength specifications.
- Monitor storage: Ensure all sensitive construction materials (like specialized chemicals, waterproofing agents, and cement) are stored under compliant conditions.

Strong knowledge of national and international civil engineering codes (e.g., IS Codes, ASTM, ACI, or British Standards).
- Testing Equipment: Familiarity with operating and calibrating site laboratory testing equipment (e.g., compression testing machines, slump cones, rebound hammers).
- Attention to Detail: High precision in identifying micro-cracks, alignment deviations, and minor steel structural variances.
- Collaboration: Robust diplomatic skills to enforce quality standards firmly with subcontractors and project execution teams without causing unnecessary project delays.
Qualifications &
- Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 3 to 8 years of experience specifically working within a QA/QC role on civil construction projects.
- Certifications: Certified QA/QC Engineer or ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor certification is highly preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
