Purpose To define the responsibilities of the Quality Engineer in ensuring in process quality control, laboratory coordination, documentation management, and third party inspection support for maintaining product quality standards.
Scope
This SOP is applicable to line inspection, laboratory assistance, quality documentation, and TPI coordination activities carried out at the factory.
Role Summary The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring in process product quality, supporting testing activities, maintaining accurate quality records, and coordinating third party inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
Key Recurring Responsibilities
1. Line Quality Checking
- Perform in process quality inspection as per the defined inspection plan.
- Ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and report non conformities and initiate corrective actions in coordination with the concerned department.
2. Laboratory Assistance
- Support testing activities as per the quality plan and applicable standards.
- Ensure samples are prepared and tested within the required timeline.
- Coordinate with the laboratory for test result availability.
3. Documentation Assistance
- Maintain and update quality inspection records in the prescribed format.
- Ensure proper traceability of production and testing data.
- Prepare quality reports for internal and external review.
4. TPI Coordination
- Provide required documents and test reports for Third Party Inspection.
- Coordinate during inspection activities and ensure compliance with inspection requirements.
- Maintain records related to TPI observations and closures.

Escalation in Case of Absence In the absence of the Quality Engineer:
- All quality related activities shall be escalated to the Reporting Manager for further action.

- Maintain proactive coordination with production and laboratory teams.
- Ensure readiness for internal and external inspections.
- Follow safety and document control practices at all times.
Accountability The Quality Engineer is accountable for:
