Job Overview

We are looking for a QC Chemist – GC to join our Quality Control team. The candidate will be responsible for GC analysis, sample testing, instrument operation, documentation, and compliance with cGMP, GLP, GDP, and data integrity requirements. The role involves testing raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, solvents, process samples, and other QC samples using Gas Chromatography (GC) as per approved analytical methods and SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform GC analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, solvents, process samples, and other QC samples as per approved methods and SOPs.
- Operate and handle Gas Chromatography (GC) instruments and related laboratory equipment.
- Perform routine checks, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of GC instruments.
- Ensure proper instrument calibration, system suitability, and performance checks before analysis.
- Prepare samples, standards, dilutions, reagents, and solutions required for GC analysis.
- Perform GC method analysis using approved analytical methods and ensure accurate results.
- Review chromatograms, integration parameters, system suitability results, and analytical data.
- Ensure proper identification, handling, and storage of samples, standards, chemicals, and reagents.
- Maintain GC instrument logbooks, usage records, analytical worksheets, and laboratory documentation.
- Ensure all analytical data is recorded accurately, completely, and contemporaneously as per data integrity requirements.
- Maintain and update records related to calibration, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, and instrument usage.
- Investigate and report OOS, OOT, deviations, abnormal results, and instrument-related issues to the QC Supervisor/Manager.
- Follow cGMP, GLP, GDP,



SOPs, safety procedures, and company policies at all times.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the QC laboratory and GC area.
- Maintain inventory of GC columns, solvents, chemicals, standards, gases, reagents, and other laboratory consumables.
- Coordinate with QA, Production, R&D;, and other relevant departments whenever required.
- Participate in analytical method validation, method verification, stability studies, cleaning validation, and other QC activities as assigned.
- Support internal and external audits/inspections by maintaining accurate and readily retrievable QC records.

Qualification

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. Chemistry or equivalent qualification.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in QC, preferably in an API / Pharmaceutical / Nutraceutical manufacturing environment.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in GC analysis will be preferred.
- Freshers with strong knowledge of GC and laboratory analytical techniques may also be considered based on the requirement.

Required Skills

- Hands-on knowledge of Gas Chromatography (GC).
- Good understanding of GC principles, sample preparation, system suitability, chromatograms, and basic troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of cGMP, GLP, GDP, SOPs, OOS/OOT, and data integrity.
- Good laboratory documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Familiarity with GC columns, gases, solvents, standards, and analytical reagents.
- Positive attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow laboratory safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in QC with hands-on GC analysis.
- Experience in API / Pharmaceutical / Nutraceutical manufacturing will be preferred.
- Exposure to raw material, in-process, finished product, solvent, and stability sample analysis using GC.
- Knowledge of GC instrument operation, troubleshooting, calibration, system suitability, and chromatogram review.
- Experience with OOS/OOT investigations and GMP documentation will be an added advantage.
