QA Engineer – Manual & Automation (Fintech)

Experience

- 2+ years in Fintech QA
- Hands-on experience with Manual Testing (Mobile App - iOS & Android) and API-driven products

Product

PayInstaCard (Payments, Bank Verification, KYC Process, Credit bureaus, Lender LOS (Loan Origination System) & Transaction APIs)

Core Responsibilities

- Perform Manual & Automation Testing for fintech mobile Application (iOS & Android)
- Execute API testing using Postman
- Design positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios of overall application
- Perform End-to-End (E2E) testing across services, DB, and third-party integrations
- Create and maintain automation scripts using Cucumber framework
- Execute automation suites via Jenkins CI/CD
- Perform API abuse, rate-limit, and race-condition testing
- Conduct security and vulnerability testing using Burp Suite
- Perform Bounty Hunting / logical fraud scenario identification
- Validate database-level checks for duplicates and retries
- Test idempotency, throttling, and retry logic
- Prepare and maintain detailed test case documentation covering all possible and edge-case scenarios
- Participate in regression, release sign-off, and production validation
- Collaborate with Product, Development and Operation teams
- Actively participate in sprint planning & retrospectives

Fintech & Fraud Scenario Testing (Mandatory)

- Test bank beneficiary verification flows
- Validate ₹1 verification credit scenarios
- Test multiple API retry attempts
- Validate API rate limiting and abuse prevention
- Ensure no duplicate beneficiary credit
- Verify DB-level validations for existing records
- Test concurrency, timeout, partial success, and failure cases




- Identify financial leakage and fraud loopholes
- End-to-end customer journeys across different product types with varying:
- Eligibility rules
- Credit policies
- Risk Checks

Required Skills

- Manual & Automation QA expertise
- API Testing – Postman

- Security Testing – Burp Suite
- Bounty Hunting / Logical Vulnerability Testing
- SQL / DB validation basics (Preferable)
- REST APIs & HTTP status codes
- Strong analytical and logical thinking
- Fintech domain understanding (payments, banking, credit, KYC)

- Exposure to banking, payments, credit cards, loan products
- Knowledge of fraud prevention systems
- Experience in high-volume transaction systems

- Edge-case and negative scenario coverage for all APIs

Defect Metrics

- Defect leakage to production ≤ 2%
- ≥ 90% of critical bugs identified before UAT
- Mean time to defect detection (MTTD) reduced sprint-over-sprint

Automation Metrics

- 60–70% automation coverage for regression suites
- Automation suite execution success rate ≥ 98%
- CI pipeline failures due to flaky tests ≤ 2%

API & Security Metrics

- 100% validation of rate-limiting & abuse scenarios
- Zero missed financial leakage or duplicate credit cases
- All high-risk vulnerabilities identified before release

Delivery & Collaboration

- Test cases ready before development completion
- Zero release delays due to incomplete QA coverage
- Active participation in sprint planning & retrospectives
