Mumbai Suburban
Kaizen Innove Interior Solutions LLP delivers turnkey interior fit-outs across airports, luxury hotels, high-end retail, corporate offices and warehouses for clients including L&T;, TATA Projects, Aditya Birla Group, CEAT Tyres and P&G.; Our furniture and products business, Archmate, serves residential and office clients across Mumbai and the MMR.
In this business the margin is made at the buying table, not the selling one. This role owns that table.
You will run procurement across both verticals — site materials for turnkey fit-outs and the furniture bill of materials for Archmate — managing an annual purchase spend of 10–15 crore. You report directly to the Managing Partner, and you build the vendor panel rather than inherit it.
What you'll own
- Sourcing & vendor development — identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers for plywood, laminates, veneers, hardware, glass, flooring, gypsum, MS and aluminium fabrication, paints and finishes. Build the panel from the ground up and keep it competitive rather than comfortable.
- Negotiation & finalisation — float RFQs, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate rates, credit terms and delivery commitments. You find the supplier, you negotiate, you close. Purchase-order authority up to 1 lakh.
- Subcontractor sourcing — identify and rate-negotiate labour and specialist subcontractors alongside material vendors.
- Furniture BOM procurement — buy to Archmate's specification for modular kitchens, wardrobes and office furniture: core substrates, shutters, edge banding, and Hettich / Hfele / Blum / Ebco-class hardware.
- Rate discipline — hold purchase rates against the rate analysis each estimate was built on, and flag early and loudly when a rate has moved.
- Delivery & programme — raise POs and track material to site against the project programme, so material is never the reason a schedule slips.
- Reconciliation — ordered vs consumed vs billed, wastage control, GRN, vendor documentation, GST compliance and payment follow-up.
What we're looking for
- 3–6 years in purchase or procurement, preferably with an interior fit-out, modular furniture or building-materials firm
- You know the Mumbai supply market — who actually stocks, who quotes low and delivers late, and where the real rate sits
- A genuine negotiation instinct, and the patience to run a comparative statement properly instead of calling the usual vendor
- Comfortable reading a BOQ and a drawing. You should understand what you are buying, not just the item code.
- Working knowledge of furniture materials and hardware is a robust advantage
- Strong Excel. Tally or ERP experience is a plus — we are moving onto a system this year, and you will help shape it.
- Organised under pressure: multiple sites, multiple deliveries, one programme
- Fluent Hindi and English. Marathi or Gujarati is genuinely useful with this vendor base.
- Willing to travel for vendor and site visits across MMR
Why this role
- Savings-linked incentive. A share of verified savings against the estimate's rate analysis, paid quarterly — earned on savings that carry no rejection and no delay. Buy better, take home more.
- Real authority. You source, you negotiate, you finalise. No committee between you and the vendor.
- You build the function. No inherited panel, no inherited habits, and a direct hand in choosing the ERP we move to.
- Direct line to the top. You report to the Managing Partner. Your decisions are visible the week you make them, not the quarter after.
- Hybrid working, across a growing order book spanning two verticals.
