Role Description The Purchase Engineer role at UCAM is an on-site position based in Bengaluru South. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including planning procurement requirements, preparing and processing purchase orders, and ensuring timely availability of materials and components for production.

The Purchase

Engineer will evaluate suppliers, negotiate prices and terms, monitor delivery schedules, and maintain accurate purchasing documentation and records.



Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing consumption patterns, tracking inventory levels, coordinating with engineering, production, and quality teams, and resolving supply-related issues to support smooth manufacturing operations. The role also involves continuous improvement of purchasing processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and adhering to company quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Purchasing Processes and Purchase Management to handle end-to-end procurement activities effectively.
- Candidates should possess skills in Purchase Planning and Purchase Orders to forecast requirements and execute accurate, timely orders.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret data, optimize costs, and support decision-making in supplier selection and inventory control.
- Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments, preferably in machine tools, CNC systems, or industrial equipment, is beneficial.
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management abilities, with proficiency in ERP or procurement software, will be an advantage.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams are significant for success in this role.
