Job Summary:

The Production Manager Vehicle Assembly will be responsible for managing and optimizing electric two-wheeler assembly operations, ensuring achievement of production targets, quality standards, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The role involves end-to-end assembly line management, manpower planning, process control, continuous improvement, and coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver defect-free vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

Execute daily production plans in line with customer demand and business requirements.

Ensure achievement of production targets, productivity, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Coordinate with PPC, Supply Chain, Stores, and Logistics teams to ensure material availability.

Monitor assembly line performance and implement corrective actions to eliminate bottlenecks.

Manage shift operations and ensure smooth production flow across all assembly stations.

Vehicle Assembly Operations

Manage end-to-end electric two-wheeler assembly operations.

Ensure proper assembly of chassis, suspension, braking systems, electrical systems, motor, controller, battery pack, and vehicle integration.

Ensure adherence to SOPs, process check sheets, OPLs, and standard work instructions.

Monitor torque control, fitment quality, traceability, and assembly process compliance.

Support rework and rectification activities to ensure first-pass yield improvement.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for productivity enhancement.

Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and Waste Elimination initiatives.

Conduct line balancing, cycle time studies, and bottleneck analysis.

Drive cost reduction and process efficiency improvement projects.

Support implementation of low-cost automation initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and supervise production operators and technicians.

Conduct training and skill development programs.





Maintain skill matrix and manpower deployment plans.

Drive employee engagement, discipline, and performance improvement.

Ensure effective communication within production teams.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure 100% PPE compliance across the shop floor.

Implement and enforce safety standards and operational procedures.

Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with EHS, IATF 16949, and company standards.

Promote safe handling practices for EV battery systems and high-voltage components.

Equipment Maintenance

Coordinate with Maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and uptime.

Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities.

Monitor assembly tools, conveyors, torque equipment, testing stations, and fixtures.

Minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain daily production MIS and operational reports.

Prepare and update SOPs, Work Instructions, Process Flow Charts, and Control Plans.

Track production efficiency, quality metrics, downtime, and manpower utilization.

Ensure compliance with audit requirements and documentation standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and R&D; teams.

Support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up activities.

Participate in design reviews, process audits, and continuous improvement projects.

Provide regular production status updates and escalate critical issues proactively.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of electric two-wheeler assembly processes.





Knowledge of battery pack assembly, motor integration, controller installation, and vehicle electrical systems.

Understanding of production planning, line balancing, OEE, and cycle time optimization.

Knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, CAPA, 8D, Fishbone Analysis, and Why-Why Analysis.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Poka-Yoke.

Knowledge of IATF 16949 manufacturing standards.
