ROLE OBJECTIVE The Product Technical Specialist I will report to the Engineering Manager and Responsible for managing new product development (NPD) and new product introduction (NPI) of plastic injection moulded components from concept to mass production, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are achieved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead NPD/NPI projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Review product designs and provide DFM inputs for mouldability and manufacturability.
- Coordinate tooling development, mould trials, sampling, and validation activities.
- Establish and optimize injection moulding process parameters.
- Prepare APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, and process documentation.
- Drive product qualification, customer approvals, and production readiness.
- Troubleshoot moulding and tooling issues during development and launch phases.
- Manage engineering changes (ECN/ECR) and continuous improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 4-5 year Experience in plastic injection moulding NPD/NPI
- Knowledge of CREO and PDMLink or experience with similar design tools
- Knowledge of injection moulding processes, tooling, DFM, GD&T;, APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.
- Valuable Knowledge and hands on experience in PDM windchill & PLM software.
- Good Problem solving and Analytical Skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision linked to the Engineering team.
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Good command of English skills in speech and writing
