Product Development Manager

Location: [Bangalore]Karnataka State.

About the Role.

Naveen Tiles is looking for a Product Development Manager to lead surface design and new product development for our ceramic and GVT tile ranges. This role sits at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and commercial strategy translating design trends and glaze/ink technology into tiles that sell, and making sure Manufacturing, Sales, and the architect/specifier community are all working off the same page.

Key Responsibilities.

- Own the design pipeline for new tile surfaces from trend research and concept to production-ready design files
- Build and maintain a design portfolio showcasing surface finishes, textures, and collections across categories (Ceramic, GVT, etc.)
- Work closely with ink/glaze/digital printing suppliers to develop new surface effects, textures, and finishes
- Provide technical direction on ceramic and GVT tile production body composition, glaze application, digital printing, and finishing processes as they relate to design outcomes
- Act as the bridge between Manufacturing (feasibility, production constraints) and Sales (market demand, customer feedback) to ensure recent launches are both producible and sellable
- Engage directly with architects, interior designers, and specifiers to understand project-level design needs and position Naveen Tiles collections accordingly




- Rationalize and manage SKU count within collections, balancing design variety against production and inventory efficiency
- Track competitor launches and surface design trends (Indian and international) to keep the portfolio current
- Coordinate sample development, mockups, and pilot runs for new designs before full production.

Requirements.

- 5+ years of experience in tile, ceramics, or surface design prior experience as a designer at an ink, glaze, or digital printing supplier strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of ceramic and GVT tile manufacturing processes
- Portfolio demonstrating surface/pattern design work (digital or physical samples)
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with production teams, sales teams, and external design professionals
- Familiarity with design software (Photoshop/Illustrator; tile-design-specific software a plus)
- Strong communication skills — able to translate technical production constraints to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.

Good to Have.

- Existing network among architects/specifiers in the tile/building materials space
- Understanding of export markets and international surface design trends
- Experience managing a design or product development team.
