Role Objective:

:

To lead, establish, and scale Gravita’s copper scrap procurement function, with a strong focus on imported copper scrap sourcing. The role involves providing strategic, commercial, and operational leadership to ensure profitable, sustainable, compliant, and continuous supply of copper scrap aligned with Gravita’s long-term vision for circular economy and global growth.

Key Responsibilities

:

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and execute global copper scrap procurement strategies, primarily focused on imports.

· Lead price negotiations, contracts, and supply risk mitigation

· Ensure compliance with DGFT, customs, environmental, Basel Convention norms, and destination country regulations.

· Identify and build long-term relationships with international suppliers, traders, recyclers, and aggregators across key sourcing geographies.

· Manage end-to-end import procurement operations including supplier selection, contract finalization, shipment planning, and logistics coordination.

· Track global copper scrap prices, freight, and market trends

Qualification

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical / metallurgical / mechanical engineering or a related discipline.

· Candidates from IITs, IIMs, or other premium institutes will be preferred.

Experience

Premium Institutes:

· 8–10 years of hands-on experience in import procurement, preferably copper scrap.

Other Institutes:

· 15–20 years of experience in copper manufacturing / recycling, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Solid exposure to international sourcing, import logistics, customs, and regulatory compliance.
