Department: Plant Quality Assurance
Educational Qualification
- B.Tech./B.E. in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related Food Science discipline.
- M.Tech./M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or Quality Management will be an added advantage.
- Certifications in HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, Internal Auditor, or Lead Auditor programmes will be preferred.
Experience
- 6 to 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or Quality Control within the food manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience in FSMS, HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMP/GHP implementation, audits, CAPA management, traceability, and consumer complaint handling.
- Knowledge of FSSAI regulatory requirements and food manufacturing processes.
- Experience in supplier quality assurance and laboratory management will be an added advantage.

Purpose of the Role To ensure production of secure, legal, and quality products through implementation of robust Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, compliance with FSSAI, Schedule IV, and Marico requirements, while driving continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Safety & Quality Systems
- Implement and maintain Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) including HACCP, GMP, GHP, and FSSC 22000 requirements.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations and Marico standards.
- Review and update HACCP studies, risk assessments, SOPs, and quality procedures.
- Lead food safety culture initiatives across the plant.
2. Incoming Material Quality Assurance
- Ensure inspection and approval of raw materials & packaging materials.
- Monitor supplier quality performance & VQI.
- Ensure traceability and documentation of all incoming materials.
3. Process Quality Control
- Establish and monitor process control parameters and quality checkpoints.
- Ensure adherence to specifications throughout manufacturing.
- Conduct line audits and process verification activities.
- Monitor CCPs, OPRPs, and quality critical parameters.
4. Finished Goods Quality Assurance
- Approve finished products against defined specifications.
- Monitor product quality trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure retention sample management and shelf-life monitoring.
- Ensure New Product Development prototype, launch and stabilization
5. GMP, Hygiene & Pest Control
- Conduct routine GMP and hygiene audits.
- Ensure compliance with cleaning and sanitation programs.
- Monitor pest control effectiveness and closure of observations.
- Drive improvements in housekeeping and food safety practices.
6. Laboratory Management
- Ensure timely testing of RM, PM, WIP, and FG.
- Review laboratory records and test results.
- Ensure calibration and verification of laboratory instruments.
- Coordinate with external NABL-accredited laboratories when required.
7. Consumer Complaints & Non-Conformance Management
- Investigate consumer complaints and quality incidents.
- Lead root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA.
- Ensure timely closure and effectiveness verification of CAPAs.
- Track complaint trends and preventive actions.
8. Audit & Compliance Management
- Prepare and lead internal, external, customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Maintain audit readiness at all times.
- Support FSSC 22000, customer, and regulatory audits.
9. Traceability & Recall
- Conduct periodic traceability exercises and mock recalls.
- Ensure 100% material and product traceability.
- Lead product withdrawal/recall activities when required.
10. Team Capability Building
- Train production and support teams on GMP, hygiene, HACCP, allergen management, and quality standards.
- Build awareness on food safety culture and consumer-centric quality.
- Develop quality competency within the plant team.
11. MIS & Reporting
- Track and publish quality KPIs for Consumer complaints, Internal rejection, Market complaints, GMP scores, CAPA closure, Audit compliance, Laboratory compliance & Food safety incidents
1. Reviews & Governance
- Present monthly quality performance (Complaints, GMP, Rejections, CAPA, Audit Compliance, Traceability) to management.
- Drive timely closure of quality, food safety, customer, and audit non-conformities.
- Participate in Management Review Meetings and present FSMS performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Escalate critical food safety incidents, regulatory risks, and major quality issues to Plant Head and Corporate Quality.
- Ensure effective implementation and review of corrective and preventive actions
