Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Economics lessons aligned with the

IB Diploma Programme Economics curriculum

.

- Prior experience teaching Economics at

Grades 11–12 / IB Diploma Programme level

.

- Teach core economic concepts including microeconomics, macroeconomics, the global economy, and relevant contemporary economic issues.

- Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, assessments, assignments, case studies, and examination-style questions.

- Prepare students effectively for IB Economics assessments and examinations.

- Guide students in applying economic theories and models to real-world situations using relevant examples and current affairs.

- Develop students' skills in economic analysis, evaluation, data interpretation, diagrammatic representation, and written argumentation.

- Support students with their

Internal Assessment (IA)

, including research, data analysis, economic commentary, and evaluation, in accordance with IB academic-integrity requirements.

- Provide constructive and timely feedback on students' academic performance.





- Monitor student progress and implement appropriate academic support or enrichment strategies.

- Use a variety of teaching methodologies, including discussion, inquiry-based learning, case studies, simulations, presentations, and data-driven activities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Economics, Business Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline

.

- A recognized teaching qualification such as

B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent

.

- Prior experience teaching Economics at

Grades 11–12 / IB Diploma Programme level

.

- Robust knowledge of Economics concepts, analytical frameworks, and examination requirements.

- Familiarity with the

IB Economics curriculum and assessment criteria

.

- IB Economics training/certification is highly desirable.

Experience

- Typically

2–5+ years of Economics teaching experience

, preferably with senior secondary or IB DP students.

- Experience mentoring students on

IB Economics Internal Assessment is preferred.

- Experience teaching IBDP Economics at

SL and/or HL is an advantage.
