- The Patient Counsellor will support patients and families in understanding the treatment journey recommended by the ophthalmologist

- After the clinical consultation, the counsellor will explain approved information about investigations, procedures, available packages, lens or technology options, expected process, admission requirements, payment methods and follow-up schedule in clear and respectful language

- Clinical diagnosis, risks, advantages, alternatives and outcome expectations must be communicated only within approved content and referred back to the doctor whenever medical clarification is required
- The counsellor will listen to concerns, identify practical barriers, answer non-clinical questions and help patients make an informed decision without pressure or misleading promises

- Responsibilities include preparing estimates, coordinating finance or TPA guidance, scheduling surgery or procedures, confirming required documents and investigations and following up with patients who need additional time
- The candidate will maintain accurate enquiry, counselling,



conversion, cancellation and follow-up records in the hospital system and prepare daily or monthly MIS

- They will coordinate with doctors, optometrists, OT, billing, TPA, front office and pharmacy to ensure continuity of care

- Patient confidentiality, dignity and informed consent principles must be protected at all times
- The role requires achievement of ethical conversion and service targets while maintaining patient satisfaction and compliance with hospital policies

- Candidates should communicate confidently in Punjabi, Hindi and English, possess good numerical and computer skills and remain calm when discussing cost or treatment concerns

- Experience in ophthalmology, surgery counselling, healthcare services or insurance will be preferred
- The ideal candidate is empathetic, persuasive without being aggressive, highly organised and committed to transparent patient education
