Role Description The Patent Illustrator is responsible for creating exact, compliant patent drawings for utility, design, mechanical, electrical, biotechnological, and medical device patents. This full-time, on-site role in the Greater Delhi Area involves interpreting invention disclosures, claims, and reference materials to produce clear and accurate illustrations aligned with international patent office standards.

Day-to-day tasks include drafting drawings from sketches, photos, and markups, refining graphics based on attorney or client feedback,



and preparing replacement or new sheets for office action responses. The role also involves ensuring consistency in line work, labeling, and shading, maintaining organized project files, and collaborating closely with patent professionals to meet deadlines and quality expectations.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Drawing and Painting skills for creating accurate, detailed line work and shading suitable for patent illustrations.
- Candidates should possess Digital Illustration and Graphic Design skills for producing and editing drawings using industry-standard software tools.
- Candidates should possess Graphics skills for formatting, layout, and preparing drawings in multiple digital formats (e.g., DWG, PDF, TIFF, CDR, VSD, Word).
- Solid understanding of technical or engineering concepts and the ability to visualize mechanical, electrical, and medical devices from written descriptions.
- Experience with patent or technical illustration standards (USPTO, WIPO, PCT) is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow specifications, and commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with attorneys, agents, and clients.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
