PAINTER JOB DESCRIBTION A professional painter prepares surfaces and applies paint, stains, and coatings to residential, commercial, or industrial properties.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation: Clean walls, fill cracks or holes with putty, sand rough spots, and remove old paint or wallpaper.
Protection: Cover floors, furniture, fixtures, and trim with drop cloths, masking tapes and plastic sheeting
Application: Mix and match colours, apply primers or sealers, and use brushes, rollers, or sprayers to put on coats of paint or varnish.
Clean-up: Remove protective coverings, reinstall fixtures, and clean tools and the work area
Client Communication: Discuss colour choices, estimate project costs, and provide material estimates.
Qualifications and Skills
8TH PASS AND ABOVE
Prior painting or trade experience. (Three years' experience).
Physical stamina to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift heavy paint cans.
Knowledge of workplace safety rules and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
