- Thind Eye Hospital is seeking a qualified Optometrist to provide accurate, safe and patient-centred optometric services under the guidance of ophthalmologists
- The optometrist will record patient history, assess visual acuity, perform objective and subjective refraction and conduct preliminary examinations according to approved clinical protocols

- Depending on training and privileges, the role may include keratometry, lensometry, tonometry, colour-vision testing, binocular-vision assessment, contact-lens evaluation and assistance with diagnostic procedures such as OCT, topography, biometry or visual fields
- The candidate will prepare patients for doctor consultation, identify abnormal findings requiring prompt review and communicate observations accurately without independently diagnosing conditions beyond their authorised scope

- Responsibilities include counselling patients regarding spectacles, contact lenses, prescribed tests and pre- or post-procedure instructions; supporting refractive-surgery and cataract workups; and coordinating with doctors, counsellors, optical and OT teams




- The optometrist must maintain complete, legible records in the hospital system, follow infection-control and equipment-disinfection protocols and report equipment issues immediately

- They will participate in quality audits, clinical training, patient-education activities and eye-screening camps as assigned

- Candidates must demonstrate sound clinical knowledge, careful technique, empathy and skilled communication

- Registration or certification should be maintained wherever applicable

- Familiarity with modern ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and experience in a high-volume eye hospital will be preferred
- The role requires punctuality, proper grooming, adherence to patient-identification and consent practices and respect for confidentiality
- The successful candidate will contribute to accurate clinical decision-making, efficient patient flow and a consistently high standard of eye-care service
