Role & responsibilities

Assessment & Treatment Planning

- Assess clients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial abilities through evaluations and standardized assessments.
- Interpret evaluation and test results to determine individualized occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with the clinical team or as per prescription.
- Develop, implement, and supervise individualized therapy programs, including home programs and follow-up plans.

Therapy Implementation

- Support clients in developing, regaining, or adapting physical and mental functioning to manage disabilities or functional limitations.
- Implement therapeutic programs involving activities of daily living (ADLs), functional skills, pre-vocational and vocational training, homemaking skills, sensorimotor activities, educational, recreational, and social activities.
- Direct, guide, and supervise therapy aides, technicians, and assistants as required.

Monitoring & Outcome Evaluation

- Monitor and evaluate therapy outcomes by observing, documenting, and assessing client progress.
- Recommend and implement modifications or adjustments to therapy plans based on ongoing evaluation and client response.

Discharge & Continuity of Care

- Participate in discharge planning in consultation with the multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Ensure continuity of care post-discharge by designing and teaching home exercise programs to clients, families, and caregivers.




- Recommend or facilitate access to appropriate assistive devices or adaptive equipment.

Documentation & Administration

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client care services in clinical records, CRM systems, and departmental files.
- Complete required administrative tasks, including report writing, case notes, and maintenance of therapy records.

Family Education & Support

- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on care strategies, environmental modifications, and supportive practices.
- Provide guidance and coordinate support services to enhance client outcomes and caregiver confidence.

Collaboration & Professional Development

- Actively participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and ensure thorough documentation of all cases.
- Stay updated on advancements and best practices in occupational therapy and introduce contemporary treatment methodologies as appropriate.

Quality Improvement & Outreach

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care, innovation, and community engagement.
- Support outreach activities, including planning and delivering workshops and participating in awareness and community programs.
