Role: L3 Network Lead Engineer

Experience

- 8+ years of experience in Network Engineering, with robust L3 troubleshooting and network architecture experience.
- Experience in enterprise/banking or large-scale infrastructure environments preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead L3 network operations, troubleshooting, incident management, and resolution of complex network issues.
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, Data Center, and cloud environments.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for routing, switching, VPN, firewall, load balancer, and network security issues.
- Handle major incidents, perform RCA, and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Lead network changes, upgrades, migrations, and network optimization activities.
- Review network designs, configurations, implementation plans, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with application, security, infrastructure, OEM, and service-provider teams for issue resolution.
- Mentor L1/L2 network engineers and provide technical guidance on complex incidents.
- Ensure network availability, performance, capacity, security, and SLA compliance.
- Participate in DR drills, network audits, vulnerability remediation, and business continuity activities.
- Maintain SOPs, network diagrams, configuration documents, and troubleshooting procedures.





Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI, DNS, DHCP, ARP, NAT, SNMP and network protocols.
- Expert-level experience in routing and switching.
- Hands-on experience with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VRF, VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP.
- Strong experience with Cisco routers, switches and enterprise networking technologies.
- Experience with Cisco SD-WAN / SD-Access is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, GRE and DMVPN.
- Working knowledge of firewalls such as Check Point, Cisco ASA/FTD and FortiGate.
- Experience with F5 Load Balancers and high-availability configurations.
- Knowledge of Cisco ISE/NAC and network access control.
- Experience in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Grafana, Wireshark, SNMP etc.
- Good understanding of network security, segmentation, high availability and redundancy.

Leadership & Process

- Ability to lead technical bridge calls and major incident resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in ITIL-based Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Ability to prepare RCA, capacity reports, network health reports, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work in 24x7 support/on-call environments when required.
