- Experience: 5–8 Years
- We are seeking a skilled Network Deployment Engineer to join an enterprise-wide 802.1X Wired Network Rollout Project. In this role, you will be responsible for transitioning wired network infrastructure into a secure access-controlled environment by discovering connected endpoints, profiling devices, and deploying authentication and authorization policies.
- The successful candidate will leverage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for endpoint discovery and profiling and utilize SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager to deploy configuration updates while transitioning network interfaces from Monitor Mode to Full Closed (Enforcement) Mode.

Essential Job Functions:

- Endpoint Discovery & Profiling: Utilize Cisco ISE to discover, classify, and profile wired endpoints across the enterprise network.
- Policy Deployment: Configure and execute phased 802.1X deployments, systematically transitioning network segments from Monitor Mode to Closed Mode (Enforcement).
- Configuration Management: Use SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager to deploy configurations, templates, and monitoring policies across access layer switches.
- Authentication Troubleshooting: Analyze switch logs, authentication failures, and Cisco ISE events to resolve endpoint connectivity issues.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with desktop support teams, security teams, infrastructure teams, and site contacts to identify unprofiled devices and minimize business disruptions during enforcement rollouts.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain deployment trackers, progress reports, implementation documentation, exceptions, deviations, and issue logs.
- Participate in rollout planning, deployment validation,



and post-implementation reviews.
- Support network access control initiatives and ensure adherence to security standards and project timelines.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications & Skills

Network Authentication Expertise

- Strong understanding of IEEE 802.1X authentication protocols.
- Knowledge of RADIUS authentication services.
- Experience with EAP authentication methods including EAP-TLS and PEAP.
- Understanding of MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB).
- Knowledge of network access control design and implementation.

Cisco ISE Experience
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Experience monitoring and analyzing live authentication logs.
- Ability to manage endpoint profiling policies.
- Experience troubleshooting authentication and authorization failures.
- Knowledge of endpoint profiling, classification, and access policy enforcement.

SolarWinds Expertise
- Experience using SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM).
- Ability to perform bulk configuration deployments.
- Experience monitoring node status and device configuration compliance.
- Knowledge of configuration templates and change management procedures.

Switching & Routing
- Strong understanding of Cisco Catalyst switch administration.
- Knowledge of switch security features including Port Security.
- Experience with AAA configurations.
- Strong understanding of VLAN implementation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of ACL (Access Control List) design and deployment.
- Understanding of enterprise network architecture and access layer operations.

Additional Technical Skills
- Network deployment and rollout experience.
- Authentication and security policy implementation.
- Endpoint onboarding and profiling.
- Network troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Configuration management and automation tools.
- Change implementation and validation activities.

Communication & Stakeholder Management




- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong coordination skills to support deployment activities across multiple sites.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Security, Infrastructure, Desktop Support, and Operations.
- Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale enterprise 802.1X deployment projects.
- Knowledge of network access control best practices.
- Experience working in phased rollout and transformation programs.
- Exposure to ITIL processes including Change and Incident Management.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are advantageous.
