Job Purpose The National Litigation Manager will lead, manage, and strategize end-to-end litigation matters for the NBFC at a pan-India level. The primary focus is to drive effective debt recovery, mitigate legal risks, protect corporate assets, and manage high-stakes disputes. This role demands aggressive execution of financial recovery laws while managing a vast network of external counsels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Strategy & Recovery Litigation

- Execute legal actions for Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) using litigation tools like Sec. 9, Sec. 11 of Arbitration & Conciliation Act, SARFAESI Act, Section 138 (NI Act), Payment and Settlement Systems Act (Sec 25).
- Manage corporate insolvency and debt restructuring proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRT).
- Drive retail and wholesale recovery via institutional Arbitration and Mediation mechanisms.
- Formulate defence strategies for the NBFC in consumer disputes, civil suits, criminal complaints, and writ petitions.

1. Panel Counsel & Vendor Management

- Appoint, empanel, and evaluate local advocates, law firms, and legal vendors across all states.




- Brief senior counsels on high-value corporate exposures and complex legal parameters.
- Negotiate and control legal spends, ensuring optimization of external counsel cost efficiencies.

1. Drafting & Legal Operations

- Draft, review, and vet complex written statements, appeals, petitions, rejoinders, and legal notices.
- Provide concrete risk opinions on title search reports, property exceptions, and collateral enforcement viability.
- Implement standardized SOPs and process notes for pan-India collection and recovery teams.

1. MIS, Reporting & Regulatory Compliance

- Maintain a centralized litigation tracker to present real-time case updates to senior management.
- Ensure exact compliance with RBI reporting requirements, including Willful Defaulters and Fraud Loan reporting.
- Analyze legislative amendments to proactively align internal collection frameworks with updated judicial mandates.

Required Specifications Educational Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from a recognized university.
- 12+ years post-qualification in handling similar role in mid-size NBFC.
