Lead SAP S/4HANA Implementation & SAP MM/FICO

Role Purpose The role will lead and coordinate SAP S/4HANA implementation, process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The position will act as the key interface between business users, functional teams and SAP implementation consultants, ensuring that business requirements are effectively translated into robust, standardized and scalable SAP processes.

The role will also provide expert-level functional support for SAP MM and FICO, drive process harmonization, manage business requirements and support organizational change arising from SAP transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP S/4HANA Implementation Leadership

- Lead functional activities related to SAP S/4HANA implementation across the organization.
- Coordinate with business users, process owners, SAP consultants and implementation partners.
- Drive implementation milestones, issue resolution and alignment between business and technical teams.
- Ensure effective adoption of SAP processes across locations and functions.
- Support testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), data validation, cutover and go-live activities.
- Facilitate post-go-live stabilization and transition to steady-state support.

2. As-Is & To-Be Process Mapping

- Conduct detailed As-Is process mapping across relevant business functions.
- Identify process inefficiencies, duplication, control gaps and opportunities for standardization.
- Design To-Be processes aligned with SAP S/4HANA capabilities and business requirements.
- Facilitate discussions with process owners to validate and finalize future-state processes.
- Ensure processes are scalable, efficient and aligned with organizational objectives.

3. Gap Analysis & Process Harmonization

- Conduct comprehensive business process and SAP fit-gap analysis.
- Identify gaps between existing processes, SAP standard functionality and business requirements.




- Develop recommendations for process redesign, configuration or system enhancements.
- Drive unified and standardized processes across the organization and locations.
- Ensure appropriate balance between SAP standardization and genuine business requirements.

4. Functional Specifications & Business Requirements

- Understand business requirements and translate them into SAP functional requirements.
- Prepare detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specifications.
- Work with SAP consultants/development teams to ensure requirements are correctly understood and implemented.
- Review proposed solutions and validate them against business requirements.
- Support functional testing and sign-off of developed solutions.

5. SAP MM & FICO – Expert Functional Support

- Provide expert-level functional support for SAP MM and FICO modules.
- Act as the escalation point for complex business and system issues.
- Analyse root causes of recurring SAP issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Support major system changes, enhancements and integration requirements.
- Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Stores, Supply Chain and other relevant business teams.
- Ensure appropriate integration between MM, FICO and other SAP modules.

6. SAP Enhancement & Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve SAP-enabled business processes.
- Lead SAP enhancement and improvement projects from requirement identification through implementation.




- Evaluate current SAP functionality and recommend solutions that can improve business efficiency.
- Drive automation, process simplification, controls and reporting improvements.
- Monitor recurring issues and implement preventive solutions.

7. Change Management & User Adoption

- Drive organizational change associated with SAP S/4HANA implementation and process transformation.
- Engage key stakeholders and process owners to build understanding and adoption of new processes.
- Support preparation of user communication, training and change-readiness activities.
- Identify resistance points and work with stakeholders to resolve adoption challenges.
- Ensure users understand both the "what" and "why" of process changes.

8. Stakeholder & Consultant Management

- Serve as the primary coordinator between business users and SAP consultants.
- Consolidate business requirements and prioritize them with relevant stakeholders.
- Challenge proposed solutions where required and ensure business requirements are adequately addressed.
- Track open issues, decisions, dependencies and action items.
- Facilitate workshops involving cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ensure timely resolution of implementation and support issues.

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Management, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- SAP certification in S/4HANA, MM.

Experience

- 8–12+ years of relevant SAP experience, preferably with significant experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP MM.
- Experience in end-to-end SAP implementation, preferably including S/4HANA.
- Experience in business process mapping, fit-gap analysis, process harmonization and functional specifications.
- Experience working with SAP implementation partners/consultants.
- Experience in multi-location or multi-business-unit environments will be preferred.
