Role Summary

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer – Lead, to lead end-to-end mechanical product development, from concept through design, prototype, validation, and production release. The role requires strong hands-on mechanical design expertise along with technical leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination with Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Suppliers, and R&D; teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead New Product Development (NPD) activities from requirements, concept development and detailed design through prototype, validation, and production release.
- Develop and review 3D CAD models, assemblies,



manufacturing drawings, engineering BOMs and technical specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, material selection, and design optimization.
- Apply DFM/DFA and DFMEA to improve manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and overall product quality.
- Perform FEA/structural analysis to validate designs before prototype release.
- Plan and support prototype development, product verification, testing, and certification activities.
- Lead technical/design reviews, identify design risks, and drive closure of engineering issues.
- Conduct structured Root Cause Analysis for design, manufacturing, and validation
- Lead ECR/ECN and engineering change management, ensuring controlled product documentation.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, SCM/Sourcing, suppliers, Project Management, and engineering teams to ensure product and manufacturing readiness.
- Provide technical guidance to mechanical engineers and review designs, drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation.

- SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD for 2D and 3D
- Windchill or equivalent PLM/PDM
- SAP/ERP
- FEA/Engineering Analysis Tools

Qualifications:

- 8–12 years of experience in Mechanical Design, R&D;, or Current Product Development.
- B.E./M.E. – Mechanical Engineering
- Strong experience in taking mechanical products from concept to production release.
- Hands-on experience with prototype development, testing, design verification, and validation.
- Strong knowledge of sheet-metal manufacturing processes and production tooling/jigs/fixtures.
- Experience working with manufacturing teams, suppliers, quality, and cross-functional engineering functions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause problem-solving skills.
- Ability to technically lead projects, mentor engineers, review designs, and drive engineering deliverables within committed schedules.
